Symphony of Movement invites the audience to take part in the ephemeral nature of live dance by creating a hybrid performance installation using motion capture technology, where no two performances will ever be the same.

Progressing through four distinct movements building on one another, the Symphony ultimately culminates with a living projection installation, allowing audiences to witness in real time the physical embodiment of Movement within this hybrid world.

first movement

Observe the environment. How it sounds. How it looks. How it smells. Find yourself, as an observer, a guest in this space. See how you and the world are existing on two separate planes. Take this Movement to observe the dancer and the environment exist as separate entities, in the same space and time, dancing to the same vibrations of the world.

second movement

A moment of reflection. In two spaces at once. Can you imagine yourself standing across the room from you? Flip the script. Walk across the floor, your reflection dances on the ceiling. See your shadows play on the wall? That's it. You're becoming in tune with the world around you.

third movement

You are a moment in time and space. Where is the boundary between you and this room? Is it the air on your skin? The deep rumble from footsteps rippling through your spine? The way your eye catches another and makes your heart skip a beat? The boundaries are blurred. Without you, in this moment, as you are, this environment does not exist as it is. You and this room. You are this room.

fourth movement

Enjoy this final movement as an installation you witnessed into being, culminating from creations moving in the three before. The world still listens, the digital bodies still dance, and yet no two experiences will be the same.

This is a Symphony of Movement.
